We spoke with Ilyasah Shabazz on the 55th anniversary of the assassination of her father, Malcolm X, who was gunned down at the Audubon Ballroom in Harlem on Feb. 21, 1965, in front of his wife and children. Shabazz was just 2 years old at the time. She is now a criminal justice professor at John Jay College, a community organizer, motivational speaker, activist and award-winning author. The new Netflix docu-series "Who Killed Malcolm X?" examines the last year of the legendary civil rights leader's life and whether innocent men went to prison for the assassination while the true culprits remained free. "My father not only posed a challenge to others who would unfortunately be envious of his intellect, of his commitment, of his righteousness, but also to world powers who really could care less about their citizens for their own personal greed," Shabazz says. #DemocracyNow
